Nana Michelle Aloha Recipes Brunch Ham & Cheese Biscuit Bake

This was collaboration between the 8 year old wildchild and I on the ingredients. I had several types of meat and veggies to choose from and I let him pick which ones he wanted to layer this with. We both decided on the Cheddar Cheese and what the seasonings should be. LOL yep we have a future Master Chef in training here whooooohoooooo!!!!!!!
Ingredients:
6 rolls of Pillsbury Regular Biscuit Dough from the store (generic brands work just as well)
4 cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I like the Smoky Cheddar but you can use any cheese)
4 cups of fresh Baby Spinach chopped medium fine
16 deli sliced thin Black Forrest Ham slices (you can use the regular less expensive brand of ham slices as well)
4 tbsp. each of minced dried onions, Italian Seasoning
Fresh cracked Black Pepper
Directions:
1. First layer – place a layer of the biscuit dough down in the baking dish and flatten it out so it resembles a pie crust on the bottom.
2. Second layer – Spread one of the cups of Cheddar Cheese evenly over the first layer of biscuits.
3. Third layer – Spread one of the cups of Baby Spinach evenly over the layer of cheese.
4. Fourth layer – Spread enough of the ham to cover the layer of spinach and add one tbsp. of each of the minced dried onion and Italian Seasoning over the top of the ham.
5. Fifth layer – Spread a layer of cheese over the ham.
6. Keep repeating steps 2 – 5 until all the cheese, ham and spinach have been used up in the layers.
7. Place rolls of biscuit dough over the top and add a slight sprinkling of Italian Seasoning and grind the Fresh Cracked Black Pepper over the top of the Biscuits to taste. (I would say I probably used almost 3/4 of a tbsp. on this one but we like ours just a little more peppery than the average person would).
8. Place in a preheated oven according to the heat on your biscuit roll directions and at about the 20 minute mark start checking to see if the layers have melted and the biscuits are starting to brown enough. This baking process will vary according to your oven. We took ours out at the 40 minute mark and let it cool a little for the cheese to settle.
We served salsa on the side and this was an incredible side sauce to dip our bites in.
