Nana Michelle Aloha Recipes & Son Anthony’s California Roll Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb. Imitation Crab Meat chopped fine (or you can use 12 ounces of canned crabmeat but make sure it is real crabmeat and drain all the liquid.)

1 cup of real Mayonnaise (this does make a difference!)

1/2 cup of white sugar

1 Avocado mashed (optional)

Crushed red pepper to taste (at least 1/4 of a tsp.)

Sushi Rice (chilled)

2 packages of Sushi Nori Wrappers (thin dried seaweed sheets)

Directions:

Mix the crabmeat, mayonnaise, crushed red pepper and sugar together until completely blended.

2) Take one of the Nori sheets and lay it flat on your cutting board and put a thin layer of the chilled Sushi Rice on it until the entire sheet is covered with the rice.

3) Gently turn the rice side over so it is now facing down on your cutting board.

4) Put a layer of the crab mixture down the middle of the nori sheet that is facing up.

5) If you want to use the avocado then lay a layer down the middle on top of the crab mixture now.

6) Carefully starting at the end nearest you on the cutting board start rolling the Nori with both hands tightly away from you. Use your fingers to keep the crab mixture evenly divided inside as you roll until the roll is completely rolled.

7) Take some water and use your finger to seal the end of the Nori wrapper together.

8) You can eat it whole or cut the sushi to share with others.
